Club Alpbach Macedonia in cooperation with Austrian Embassy in Skopje organized the project “Austrian – Macedonian Days” which took place in ?kopje from 16 to 18 October 2014.
This fair and networking event consisted of two parts: panel discussions at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” and Austrian Career Day at FON University. Three representatives of Club Alpbach Belgrade took active participation in this project and held an interesting presentation about Austrian Companies and Investors in Serbia.
The aim of the conference was to highlight the importance of Macedonia’s accession to the EU and further cooperation with Austria towards getting a date for negotiations. The emphasis was also put on the way how the Macedonian legal legislation could facilitate Austrian investments and the functioning and development of the Austrian companies in Macedonia, and create a good business climate.
Panelists at the conference were experts such as: Dr. Erhard Busek, the honorary president of the Forum Alpbach, Thomas M. Baier, Austrian Ambassador in Macedonia, Dr. Aleksandar Stojkov, Vice Dean at Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus”, Saso Ordanoski, VEVE-Group, Günther Fehlinger, Chairman of European Tax Reform, Nikola Popovski, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fatmir Besimi, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Ylber Sela, Institute for Political and International Studies, and many others.
During the Career day Austrian companies in Macedonian were represented and they explained their activities and what kind of employees they are recruiting, which requirement should be fulfilled in order to get a working post and similar issues. The target group was students and young professionals, who are in search of employment. The Club Alpbachs were also represented having a separate representation table for Club Alpbach Macedonia and the Clubs of the EFA in the region.
After interesting panel discussions, members of the Network of European Forum Alpbach in the region of Southeast Europe had a formal meeting, in order to discuss about future projects and methods for improving cooperation and implementation of regional projects.
This event was not only a great opportunity to share the “Spirit of Alpbach”, but also to express gratitude to Dr. Erhard Busek for his support and contribution in countries of the South East European. In Cooperation with regional Alpbach Clubs/IGs including Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Bosnia, Club Alpbach Macedonia awarded Dr. Busek with a Certificate of Appreciation.
